What is the debt recovery process?

The debt recovery process involves recovering unpaid business debts through professional communication, negotiation, and payment arrangements. If voluntary payment cannot be achieved, legal action may be considered after discussing the available options with you.

It is generally recommended to refer an overdue account once your internal reminders and follow-up attempts have been unsuccessful. Acting early often increases the likelihood of recovering the outstanding amount before the debt becomes more difficult to collect.

The timeframe varies depending on the debtor’s circumstances, the amount owed, and their willingness to cooperate. Some debts are resolved within days, while more complex matters may take several weeks or longer if legal action becomes necessary.

To begin the recovery process, you should provide supporting documents such as:

  • Outstanding invoices
  • Statements of account
  • Purchase orders or contracts
  • Signed agreements
  • Delivery confirmations
  • Email or written correspondence with the debtor
  • Any previous payment reminders

Providing accurate documentation helps us assess the claim and begin recovery promptly.
